The first thing we said when we began creating our new French Toast flavor?
“It has to be good enough to eat for breakfast.”
We’d been toying with the idea of a breakfast-themed flavor for a few years. Our biggest hurdle was picking a favorite breakfast food that would work as an ice cream. We love pancakes, are fans of eggs & bacon, adore waffles… But none of them truly captured that Saturday morning, cozy-in-pajamas, start-of-the-weekend feel.
What eventually set French toast apart from the others was that sweet and savory mix of maple syrup and eggy deliciousness accented by those subtle hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. French toast provided the depth of flavor we were looking for, and it didn’t hurt that it’s a crowd favorite here at ENLIGHTENED HQ.
French toast: it’s homey, it’s delicious, and now it’s ice cream. 70 calories, 6g protein, and 5g sugar per serving. If we’re having ice cream in the morning… we just call it brunch.
